Head Coach Jackie
I am happy to represent Wisconsin, as I was born and raised on a 272-acre dairy farm outside the tiny town of Stitzer, Wisconsin. In my heart, I will always be a country girl. Wisconsin pride (yes, this includes the Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers!) runs deep. Paired with that is a strong work ethic taught to me by my incredible parents, brother, and both my maternal and paternal grandparents. I have figured out how to adapt to city life (this is a big city to me!), but as John Denver sang, “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”
My sports background includes 14.5 years of club gymnastics, 10 years of dance, and 3.5 years of track and field during high school and my first semester of college. I attained Level 10 status and competed at that level but chose to move back to Level 9 during my senior year of high school so I could earn a berth to Westerns, which I did. I was also the second-place finisher on vault.
After losing my final club gymnastics season to a second ACL injury while attending the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, I transferred to the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. Each year, we had to try out for the gymnastics team, and I am proud and grateful to have been a four-year member. During my four years on the team, we won the NCGA National Championship in 2005, 2006, and 2008.
Dance has always been a huge passion of mine, and that love led me into the world of gymnastics choreography in 2008. In the fall of 2019, I had the opportunity to return to dance classes and perform on stage once again in a ballet number. It was only for one year, but it was more meaningful than words can express.
My experience in track and field has also greatly influenced my coaching, particularly as a vault coach. During my three years competing in high school track and field, I earned a medal at the State Championships each year and was named MVP and co-captain during my senior year.
In addition to my own participation and coaching in the sport, I am also a USAG Accredited Official through Level 10. While I am heavily immersed in the gymnastics world, I enjoy seeking out new experiences, including solo travel, learning salsa dancing, and ziplining. No matter the challenges, my life experiences have led me to believe that everything is worthwhile in the end. God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good.
