Coach Trisha

Trisha has been coaching gymnastics since 1999. Trisha’s personal gymnastics journey is the reason she became a coach. She learned how hard work, dedication and commitment can propel anyone toward his/her goals. She loves teaching young athletes and pushing them to reach their potential. Her favorite things are watching gymnasts overcome obstacles and realize how amazing they are!

Back in the day, she was a competitive level 9 gymnast from Colorado Aerials and competed at many Regional meets and Level 9 Westerns. Her best events were beam and floor. As a coach, her passion is coaching bars, vault, tumbling and strength/conditioning!

Education:

Trisha has her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. She minored in Nutrition and Psychology. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), which she earned through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). She remains current with this highly distinctive certification. This certification helps Trisha as a coach and program director in the science of injury prevention and the individualized approach to each athlete.

Coaching Education:

Trisha has attended many Gymnastics Coaching seminars, clinics, congresses and boot camps lead by the best of best: the national training staff. Trisha is so passionate about continuing education that she invests in this every year. The sport of gymnastics is always changing and we can never learn enough!

Coaching:

Her favorite event is bars. The mechanics, physics and beauty are so intriguing! But, she loves all four events and loves seeing every gymnast as a whole athlete. Trisha has had many athletes become State Champions (events and AA) and qualify to Regionals and Western National Championships. P509’s program has grown from zero team athletes in 2009 to over 70 in 2020. She is incredibly competitive and foresees several of P509’s athletes earning college scholarships in the next few years. P509's first full ride gymnastics scholarship was earned in 2021 to Alexa Kabat (one of Trisha and Sam's athletes) who is committed to the Air Force Academy. She is a very driven coach with a strong technical eye and high expectations. But, she always remembers to have fun and make sure the kids can still “be kids". To say she loves this sport is an understatement. She is so passionate about gymnastics, teaching and coaching.
